Faye's behaviour can be unpredictable most of the time, but if you follow it closely, you'll detect a pattern. Faye does stupid things because she is an impulsive person, but whenever she runs off, it's for a personal reason, for money, or for a bounty.
The reason she cheats at poker is because she hates losing. She lost her memory, she lost her home, she lost her family, and she does not want to face defeat anymore than she already has in her life.
The reason she runs off with money or goes to sources of money is because she has an outstanding debt, which she did not even ask for or deserve. She did not ask to be preserved when she died, and she did not ask to be revived.
The reasons why she goes after bounties is because she needs the money. If she wasn't so frivilous in her spending, perhaps she would have paid off the debt that she did not deserve.
The reason why she runs away from everyone and steals from them while doing so is because a little part of her wants them to find her and accept her again. She will take any form of acceptance, even if it involves negativity and mistrust.
She may seem selfish in doing so, but her living styles are what keep her alive. She looks out for herself, as nobody else, in her mind, will. |
